The CMWPEARLS Spring Private Auction featured 517 lots.
A total of 237,802 Tahitian Pearls
It's been difficult for wholesalers all over the world to properly evaluate each lot because of travel restrictions, according to Chan Ming Wing, founder of Chan Ming Wing Pearl International Company. "The market is slowly picking up on the new habit of buying pearls, as clients are also trying to adapt to all the travel restriction" he says.
Buyers are cautious on placing bids and making less purchases because it is difficult for them to accurately assess the value of the lots. As a result, Total sales decline but surprisingly the average price has a slight increased.
